MARTIN D. HOKE 1955 - 2011
Martin hoke was the husben of my sister La Nona Hoke. La Nona was the only daughter of 60 Homers Club member Forrest (Frosty) Kennedy. She and Martin had two sons, Danny and David.
Below is what is happing from their Church in Anaheim, CA.
Go to the end to read the moving tribute to his dad by Daniel Hoke.

It is our very sad task to report that Martin Hoke passed away this afternoon at St. Jude Hospital surrounded by loving friends and family, his wife LaNona and sons, David and Daniel.
If you wish to help at this time with cooked, prepared meals for the family, please call the church office 714-776-0960 and leave this message: your name, phone number and day available. Service to Members will organize a meal delivery schedule, thank you.
Blest be the Lord, the God of mercy, the God who saves. I shall not fear the dark of night. Nor the arrow that flies by day. I need not shrink before the terrors of the night, nor stand alone before the light of day. No harm shall come to me, no arrow strike me down, no evil settle in my soul. (From Psalm 91 )
God Bless,
Maria and Patrick Doyle

Dear FCCA Congregation,
Thank you for your outpouring of response to the passing of Martin Hoke last Sunday. We do not have information on services yet and many of you have asked “How can I help?” so here is the information:
Service to Members is organizing meal delivery every other day (if possible) starting Wednesday of this week. There are no restrictions on types of food- just enough for 4 people. Daniel Hoke needs a phone call when someone is coming over so he can make sure to be home, so call (714) 930-6072 before you come by, and because of his work schedule, he needs it dropped off at 6:00 pm or later. The home address is: 632 Bridgeport Circle, Fullerton 92833
If I anyone needs transportation call me and I will make arrangements, (714) 458-7038
Penny Schibsted has volunteered for this Wednesday July 27 and I will deliver her food for her. So that leaves the following dates available:
Friday July 29, Sunday July 31, Tuesday August 2, Thursday August 4, Saturday August 6, Monday August 8, Wednesday August 10, Friday August 12 and Sunday August 14

PS. Daniel Hoke posted this moving tribute to his dad... “My Dad” by Daniel Hoke on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 6:05 pm Time sometimes goes out the window with the wind. When something picks up, you lose track of what’s really going on. The last 56 hours of my life have been full of emotion. There was panic, promise, and pain. There was sorrow, stability, and support. My father was experiencing extreme body discomfort. He became weak, cold, and pale. Without waiting, my Mom called for help. When paramedics arrived, my dad had a seizure and they quickly attended him. I arrived home to find they were loading my dad into the back of the ambulance. He wasn’t conscious but was breathing on his own. It looked like he was just taking a nap. Minutes after leaving my house, his body went into shock and cardiac arrest. It was a massive heart attack that caused his heart to stop immediately. CPR was issued for a reported 30 minutes. During that time, he was shocked 4 times in an attempt to revive him. They finally got a pulse but did not have any idea how long his body was out of air. He was placed in the ICU at St. Jude Medical center, only a 3 minute ride from my house.
There was more bad news than good news coming out of the situation. People all around began to pray for both my family and my father. After a long hard fight with life my mother, brother, and me knew what we needed to do. Watching my father lay there and letting a machine keep him going was getting harder and harder every hour that went by. My dad would have kicked me in the ass if he saw what was happening to him. We got loved ones close by, and at 2:33 this afternoon, we let my father go see his Father. It was the most pain-filled and stressful decisions we have ever made as a family and I pray we never go through it again. I have no doubt in my mind where my dad is right now.
He’s having dinner for the first time with Jesus himself. I personally will never forget my father. The lessons he taught me, the times where I needed him, the moments he cherished. There is a huge void in the family as of right now. I will never reach the stature of my Father, but every day I will strive to be more like him and do everything I can to get my family through this. With the support of friends, family, and the loving grace of God, we will be okay. My dad was an amazing pal, friend, neighbor, husband, mentor and father. I will always love you daddy. We will miss you like crazy but we know your still holding us in your hands. Never leave our side and were counting down the days till we see you again. I love you dad. You will be missed more than words can describe
